Echoptics: OXYGENE 4 CYCLE

Trans Canada Highway is an EP by the Scottish IDM duo Boards of Canada. It was released on May 29, 2006 by Warp Records. According to Boards of Canada's official site, the EP was originally scheduled for release on June 6, 2006.[1] (that date being written numerically as 6/6/06, harking back to their use of the number 666 on the album Geogaddi.) The vinyl pressing of the EP is coloured white.
The EP contains the duo's first ever music video, directed by Melissa Olson. The video begins with stock footage of Joseph Kittinger's landmark sky dive from a helium balloon that had pierced the atmosphere, effectively leaving Kittinger in free fall from space in 1960. The video shows a man (not Kittinger) landing in the ocean after his parachute successfully opens, and as he rises to the surface, he grasps a surfboard and begins to ride waves. The video pieces together various found video and film clips in order to create a short narrative to the song "Dayvan Cowboy", which also appears on Boards of Canada's 2005 album The Campfire Headphase.
The album title is perhaps a nod to electronic group Kraftwerk's album Trans-Europe Express, or a more direct reference to the Trans-Canada Highway.
The album art was taken from a 1977 Dodge Trucks parts manual.

Anvil Vapre is a 1995 EP released by the band Autechre. It's a companion of sorts to their Tri Repetae LP, being based on material from the same sessions left out for space reasons. (It was also released on Tri Repetae++, the U.S. edition of Tri Repetae featuring EPs Garbage and Anvil Vapre on a second disc.)
The artist Chris Cunningham produced a video for "Second Bad Vilbel" which can be found on the Warp Records "WarpVision - The Videos" DVD compilation.
The track names are inspired from scenery associated with Snake Pass; Bad Vilbel is a German spa town which is twinned with Glossop.
